Finished Glass Bowl

After fusing the bowl, as you can see in the previous post, I placed the disk on a mold, and heated it up in the kiln.  It slumped into the shape that you see here.

Now, I just to grind the bottom to create a flat surface so it sits  steadily on the table.

I’ll take a closeup of this. There are tiny air bubbles trapped between the stripes throughout the piece.

Recently gave one of your bowls as a wedding gift. Couple LOVED the originality, uniqueness, and workmanship – thrilled that they received a gift that actually had some character and personality, unlike so many of their other store bought presents. Not only will we be contacting you in the future for more gift-giving, but so will the bride and groom as well as their friends and family!

  2. Very good looking bowl! My blog supports local artists and their work..as we all should! its better to support local artists http://blog.sidestreetstudio.com/wood/10-reasons-why-you-should-buy-local-arts-crafts/

  3. That’s great, Larry. Glad they loved it. Let me know when you’re ready for another one!
